The Most Underground News in the Pit
In this report:
- Forktung
- It's Casual
- Carcass
- Amon Amarth
Hey, how about some underground news? Here you go:

- Falling To Pieces has announced they have found a new vocalist. They welcome Nicci D., formerly of Enemy Of Life, into the fold after coming out for an audition and killing it. I look forward to seeing my boys from FTP tearing it up with this badass chick fronting them. http://www.myspace.com/fallingtopieces

- Forktung has added 5 new tracks on their myspace page from their new album The Inevitable, which is also available for sale, so hit up that URL ASAP and support these motherfuckers by adding a banner to your own myspace page and purchasing their CD. http://www.myspace.com/forktung

- It’s Casual has posted tour dates on their myspace blog, which unfortunately, I don’t see Sacramento listed. WTF?!?! Anyways, this is a band I’d love to see live, so hopefully soon I'll have a chance. In the meantime, you should check it to see if they are playing in your area. They have reviews posted for their recent split 7” with Bullet Treatment as well as some videos for your viewing pleasure. http://www.myspace.com/itscasual

- MCP is looking for a new singer, someone who has powerful vocal skills in the vein of Bruce Dickinson or Matt Barlow. If you think you have what it takes, head over to their myspace and hit them up. http://www.myspace.com/mcpmetal

- The Tidal Wave show, which was held earlier this month proved to be a successful event once again. The 2-day metal festival at McLaren Park in San Francisco brought out a thousand metalheads there for one thing: to tear shit up. Based on the videos I’ve seen, they did just that. Yes, I was a douche bag and wasn’t able to make it to the show, so I have to settle for watching youtube and myspace videos. I regret it now because the first day was headlined by the almighty Exodus, which anyone that knows me knows I am a huge fan. They are one of my all time favorite bands. Other bands that performed at the 2-day event include Hirax, Psychosomatic, Détente, Attitude Adjustment, Ludicra, Saros, Fog Of War, and Imagika. Props to Tonus and crew for pulling off a successful event. Google 'tidal wave' and I’m sure you can find videos to check out, but next year this is an event to be experienced live and in person.http://www.thetidalwave.org/

- After 15 years of being dormant, Laaz Rockit returns with a new album entitled Left For Dead on Massacre Records. The band was formed in Berkeley in 1982 and are part of the bay area thrash movement, alongside Exodus and *ahem* Metallica. They will be having a record release party at Betty’s Rock Bar in Walnut Creek later this month. http://www.myspace.com/thelaazrockit

- Antagonist and The Funeral Pyre will be heading out for a short tour across the Southwest and West Coast. Antagonist will be touring in anticipation of their Prosthetic Records debut, Exist, due out this fall and The Funeral Pyre are touring in support of their latest, Wounds. http://www.myspace.com/antagonist

- In other Prosthetic news:
- Gojira will be releasing a new album this October entitled The Way Of All Flesh.
- Hollow Corp. will be releasing its debut Cloister Of Radiance in September in North America, which was released last year in Europe through Dental Records.
- Beneath The Massacre has posted a video update of their recording of their forthcoming album, Dystopia.
- Skeletonwitch has been added to Danzig’s Blackest Of The Black tour, alongside Dimmu Borgir, Moonspell, and Winds Of Plague.

- Psycroptic, a tech death band from Tasmania, have announced that they have inked a deal with Nuclear Blast Records. The band and the label share mutual excitement for the signing. http://www.myspace.com/psycroptic

- Carcass is back! As previously leaked, the legendary band will be performing at the Nokia Theater in NYC in September, with Necrophagist and Aborted in support, along with 3 other bands yet to be named. More US dates are to be announced shortly, so let’s hope they make it to the West Coast. http://www.myspace.com/carcass

- Hackneyed, a metal band with an average age of 16 years old (the guitarist is only 14) are set to release their full-length, Death Prevails, on Nuclear Blast in September. Damn, the shredders keep getting younger and younger. http://www.myspace.com/hackneyed

- Amon Amarth has been added to the Unholy Alliance Tour III with Slayer and Mastodon for the Europe run this October and November, so if you happen to be across the pond, go check it out. http://www.myspace.com/amonamarth
OK, I’m done.
