When you first see the name HateFX you would probably think as I did; that this band would be some sort of modern punk group normally seen or associated with the early Vans Warped tours. HateFX's musical endeavors are quite the contrary and all metal. These Fresno, California, neo-Thrashers are all about using everything they can during the writing process. You get accessible thrash riffs executed with a surgeons precision along with full bodied sonic layers you wouldn't normally hear without the help of a serious producer to back your recording up.
The Holy Frail shows hardcore experience with each song. This is attributed to Gabriel's past years as a co-founder and front man for Dogma, once a highly popular and dominating metal act from Chile. You back that up with a serious skin pounder like Dan Sablan formerly from Northern California's The Council how can you go wrong? The Holy Frail is very difficult to drop into any one single category. You're going to hear influences from veteran acts like Fear Factory, Metallica, Megadeth and more. G's guttural mixed melodic vocals bring it all full circle. My only beef would be, that I would like to hear the growls pushed a little more - to become more grittier and intense. That's saying a lot considering musically they have nailed it and is a worthy piece for any new or older thrasher's collection.
This CD is a worthy buy and if you're more of a single mp3 collector, I would suggest you give a good listen to "Stainless Kill" for cool guitars, "WDF" for a sik chorus line or their title track "The Holy Frail" which just straight kicks ass and embodies everything I have already mentioned in to one package. If you get the CD, I will kind of let the cat out of the bag. Let the CD keep going for a classic hidden track which I won't spoil the name of the song, but you're going to know it and feel it rips. Especially if you are big on psychedelic rock gone extreme.

Sounds like it would be a great buy. If I had money I’d get it! LOL
