Welcome boys and grrls to the April edition of the Shred Report. I hope you are diggin' the new look of the Raginpit Magazine site as much as I am. Let's take a look at what is going on in our scene:

Chaos In Mind is seeking a bass player and a new vocalist. Influences include Slayer, Lamb of God and Pantera. Serious inquiries only, so if you think you have what it takes, hit ‘em up at chaosinmind13@yahoo.com.

STD has confirmed a couple shows in the coming months: April 11th, they will be at the Underground Café in Roseville, CA for an all ages show with Fashion City Scandal, 5 Days Dirty, Playground Patriots and All Names Taken. Also, on May 9th, they will be appearing with A Mover A Fighter, Josiah James and 5 Days Dirty for another all ages show at the 180 Teen Center in Lodi, CA. Check their page for show details.

A Lower Deep is confirmed for the Kansas City Power Metal Fest which will be held at The Riot Room in Kansas City, MO on August 9, 2008. Announced bands also include Manilla Road, Ancient Creation and Widow with more to be announced. Also, as announced before, the band has signed a recording deal with Turkey Vulture Records and will head to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin in late April to begin recording the debut CD for TVR. The album is expected to be released in the Fall of 2008.

Arsis had a little accident during their tour. Their trailer flipped over and came unhitched and got lodged into an ice bank. They weren't sure of the condition of their gear since they had to dig it out. They lost about $1,000 worth of gear, but were able to rent a trailer and are back on the road.

Droid have announced that they are going to be joining Shadows Fall, Kataklysm and others for a string of dates this month, wrapping it up at the New England Hardcore and Metalfest on April 26th.

Amebix have posted photos of their first rehearsal after a 20-year hiatus. The band has recently reformed and will have their 1987 album Monolith re-released by Moshpit Tragedy Records as a sliding scale download, which means it is essentially free or you can pay however much you would like.

Meshuggah have announced that they will be touring with Ministry on the CU LaTour here in the States to support the release of their latest album obZen, which dropped March 11th. Not much needs to be said other than this is a show not to be missed, so check their sites for show dates.

Hatebreed and Type O Negative will be co-headlining the 2008 Jagermeister (mmm, jager… uh, anyways) Tour kicks off mid-May with 3 Inches of Blood. You can check out a list of dates at www.jagermeistermusictour.com.

36 Crazyfists will be releasing an EP entitled The Oculus, in celebration of “Record Store Day” on April 19th, which is being observed by over 375 independent record stores. Go to www.recordstoreday.com for more information on that. The band is releasing the EP which will include a track from their forthcoming album slated to be released in May. The band is currently on tour with Napalm Death, DevilDriver and Invintro.

Sevendust have announced the return of original guitarist Clint Lowery, who is back in the fold replacing Sonny Mayo, and will be on the upcoming tour with Saliva.
