Do they cut it or not?

PaganFest

Eluveitie… Loud hails and war chants came from all ends of the crowd as each of Eluveitie’s eight members made their stage entrance. The complete line-up was a sight to behold - guitars, fiddles, bagpipes and flutes alike all raised in the air as the crowd welcomed them.

Exodus at Slims - S.F.

Lee Altus/Exodus… A line that that stretches for yards across, composed of both young kids discovering Exodus for the first time to those who’ve been involved in the scene for the last twenty-plus years are lined up outside of Slims, waiting to pay homage to one of San Francisco’s best thrash metal acts, Exodus.

Geryon, Interseed and More at the Redhouse

Sons of Pariah…this six-act gig delivered a consistently power packed evening of brutality, melody, and chaos band after band.

Ragin in the Kennel Club

I have been a journalist for Raginpit Magazine for over a year now. On the night of August 4th, Raginpit sponsored their first show since I have been a part of the crew. As I arrived for this show at the Kennel Club early, it seemed it was going to be a somewhat somber night [...]

5150 Death and Thrash

Brutal Metal with a Side of Muffins

It was on a warm Saturday evening on July 8th that I set off to Fair Oaks looking for the Java Café. I had never been to a show there nor can I recall ever attending a concert in Fair Oaks. I didn’t expect much of the café as a metal venue because of the [...]

Metal vs. Metal

I took the scenic route out to the central valley. It was a pleasant 2 ½ hour ride to the lovely town of Atwater, home to the now defunct Castle Air Force Base to witness a Raginpit presents show in conjunction with The Maniacs bike club from Merced, who were hosting a stunt show with [...]

Thrash Against Cancer Benefit Concert

As I sit here at my computer, I am still trying to shake off that last remnant of cobwebs that fog in my alcohol soaked, sleep deprived brain. My body, battered and bruised from the multiple pits I jumped into during the 10 hours of nonstop metal at the “Thrash against Cancer” show, a benefit [...]

Ladies Night at the Pound

Okay, I hear about this concert to be held in San Francisco, “The Metal Movement,” a statement which should be remembered I hope, for an eternity. A message to all, that our world is not to be stereo typed, that “Heavy Metal” is not to be a world made up by and ruled of just [...]
